Coffman Family YMCA's Hank Siefert is a stud in the mid-distance freestyle events. With best short course yards times of 1:36.30 in the 200 freestyle and 4:23.54 in the 500 freestyle, Siefert will be a major asset to Lars Jorgensen's squad at the University of Kentucky this fall.
But before Siefert gets to Lexington, he will take on the 2017 YMCA National Championships where he is the meet record holder in the 400m freestyle (3:58.37) and a top-two seed in all of his events -- 50m/100m backstroke and 100m/200m/400m freestyle.
In the above episode of Outside Smoke, Siefert talks about his mindset going into Y-Nats, the team atmosphere at the championship meet, and his thoughts about heading to Kentucky.
