Will Grant -- 16 year-old from Heart of Texas Aquatics Team (HEAT) -- had one heck of a day Thursday at the 2017 Speedo Southern Zone LC Sectional Championships in Austin, Texas.
Grant came into the meet with a seed time of 2:07.49 in the 200m backstroke. In prelims, he torched the field to take the No. 1 seed with a blistering fast 2:03.20. He went one step further in finals by lowering his time again to a 2:02.88 (although he would touch second to University of Texas' Josh Artmann in 2:01.62).
In the interview above, Grant talks about earning his first National/Olympic Trials time standard plus his competition plan for the rest of the summer.
