The Big 12 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships are here, and for the next four days in Austin, Texas, the conference's top athletes are battling for not only titles but also potential NCAA berths.

Here are the top 10 events to keep eye on when watching Big 12s this Wednesday through Saturday live on FloSwimming

1. Men’s 200 Butterfly — Feb. 24

Olympian Joseph Schooling of Texas is feeling some pressure from freshman teammate Sam Pomajevich in one of his marquee events. Separated by only a 0.1 of a second in December, this race could produce an upset.

2. Women’s 100 Butterfly — Feb. 23

Sticking with the theme, the women’s 100 matches teammates closely against each other. Longhorns Lauren Case and Remedy Rule finished first and second last year, respectively, separated by 0.02. Case has been behind this year but is easily within striking distance to make for a great race.

3. Men’s 50 Freestyle — Feb. 22

The defending champion and conference record holder matched against a fellow Texas senior: Joseph Schooling and Brett Ringgold enter the championships having swam the exact same time this season at 19.32. That time is nearly what Ringgold went last year, compared to Schooling dropping a 18.76.

4. Women’s 200 Butterfly — Feb. 24

West Virginia’s Morgan Carr is in the best position of any non-Longhorn to win on the women’s side. She’s seeded two seconds behind Rule and Case. Those two are deadlocked at the top, split by 0.03. They are setting up for another tight race for the conference title.

5. Men’s 100 Breaststroke — Feb. 23

Here’s another event with a strong representation from West Virginia. Jack Armstrong won the race a year ago with a time faster than any Texas swimmer has gone this year. With three Longhorns breaststrokers and the defending champion Mountaineer, this is the best chance for West Virginia to win.

6. Women’s 50 Freestyle — Feb. 22

Sprints are always fun to watch. The 50 freestyle matches some of the Longhorns' best against each other. Claire Adams and Rebecca Millard are set to produce a fast and exciting event.

7. Men’s 200 Backstroke — Feb. 24

Texas' Austin Katz and Ryan Harty both laid down "A" standard swims in December. They occupy the top two spots heading into this weekend. Defending champion John Shebat ranks fifth among the Longhorns and will be looking to reclaim his title. Senior Jonathan Roberts will also be in the mix.

8. Men’s 3-Meter Diving

Texas freshman Jordan Windle leads the nation on the boards. Watch for a preview of what he has in store for the national championships in March.

9. Men’s 200 Individual Medley — Feb. 22

Six swimmers separated by less than a second are vying for a chance to pick up where Texas grad Will Licon left off last year. John Shebat, Samuel Stewart, and Josh Artmann finished behind him last year. West Virginia’s Nathan Carr is within the group of six competing. The times won’t be wildly fast but the racing will be intense.

10. Women’s 1-Meter Diving

Defending national champion Alison Gibson leads the way into conference followed by teammates Samantha Bromberg and Meghan O’Brien. Gibson is the favorite, but, behind her, anything is possible.
