The 2017 Georgia Tech Invitational is underway at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta on Thursday. The Florida State men's and the Auburn women's teams lead the points after the first evening.

South Carolina's Emma Barksdale owned the back half of the 200 IM to overcome over a early deficit to Auburn Alyss Tetzloff. Barksdale won with a 1:56.41.

Florida State took both women's relays, claiming the 200 free relay with a NCAA A-standard swim of 1:28.49. The Seminoles' 400 medley relay finished in 3:33.45.

On the men's side, South Carolina's Fynn Minuth won the 500 free in a 4:16.07. Alabama's Robert Howard narrowly missed the A-standard (19.05) in the 50 free with his 19.11 winning time.

Alabama locked down A-standards in both the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay. The Crimson Tide's sprint relay took a 1:16.68 and the medley finished in 3:07.04. Florida State also swam an A-standard in the 200 free relay.
