The 2017 Art Adamson Invitational opened up Thursday morning at the Texas A&M Natatorium in College Station, Texas with quick swims -- especially on the women's side.

Stanford's Katie Ledecky lowered her season best in the 500 freestyle to 4:30.390. She holds the top spot heading into finals followed by four of her Cardinal teammates. On the other hand, the 200 IM didn't involve a time drop from Texas A&M's Sydney Pickrem as she took the top spot.

On the men's side, which doesn't include the nation's top team, the swims didn't jump off the page. Texas A&M's Brock Bonetti led the way in the 200 IM with a 1:45.19.

In addition to the events from this morning, the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay will take center stage this evening.
