2017 arena Pro Swim Series at Santa Clara

Going into the 2017 arena Pro Swim Series at Santa Clara, Chase Kalisz and Josh Prenot are tied atop the leaderboard with 38 points a piece.
Kalisz is currently entered in four events -- 200m breaststroke (6th), 200m freestyle (28th), 200m butterfly (3rd), and 200m IM (1st).
Prenot is currently entered in three events -- 200m breaststroke (1st), 100m breaststroke (3rd), and 200m IM (3rd).
What is at stake?
The overall point total winner (male & female) of the arena Pro Swim Series who meets the eligibility requirements -- most notably, no longer possess NCAA eligibility -- will win a one-year lease of a BMW vehicle, plus a stipend from USA Swimming to help cover delivery charges and/or taxes on the vehicle. In addition, the overall male and female winners of the series, regardless of nationality, will win a $10,000 bonus. But wait... there is a twist
Typically the Pro Swim Series ends on the final stop prior to Nationals. However, USA Swimming has dropped an interesting plot twist to this year's edition. Nationals will now count for series points. But wait, there's more -- not only points, but double points. On paper, the nod has to go to Kalisz when all is said in done. At Santa Clara, Kalisz has decided to drop the 400m IM from his repertoire in favor of the 200m freestyle. Relay exploration, anyone? Kalisz is also likely slated to swim four events at Nationals -- both IM's, 200m butterfly, and 200m breaststroke. Prenot will likely only swim three events -- both breaststroke events and the 200m IM.
With that being said, races are not swum on paper. They are swum in a pool. Obviously... As recent post grads, both of these guys will certainly be gunning for the extra prize money, though.
