The final push to postseason tournaments has brought major shakeups to the NCAA Division I women’s soccer rankings.

No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 3 Memphis remain the only two unbeaten teams in the top 25, while Stanford continues to hold steady at No. 2.

Notably, Notre Dame drew 1-1 with Wake Forest (receiving votes) shortly after the rankings were finalized. If Stanford and Memphis continue their strong form, we could see a new top-ranked team exiting the regular season.

Memphis is an impressive contender. Their last three matches were hefty shutouts (5-0-, 2-0 and 6-0). The Tigers have concluded their regular season undefeated and look forward to the American Athletic Conference Championship. 

Stanford has been waiting for Notre Dame to slip. The Cardinals last topped SMU 5-1 and their regular season concluded with a rivalry matchup with Cal. 

No. 7 Virginia fell out of the top three after a 2-3 loss to now No. 6 Florida State. Texas Tech suffered a 0-3 shutout against Colorado — a result that catapulted the Buffaloes from No. 22 to No. 11 and dropped the Red Raiders from No. 5 to No. 15.

Elsewhere, No. 16 Washington slid eight places after a 1-2 loss to Oregon (unranked).

With most teams having just one match left before postseason play, the battle remains fierce. The fight has been hard until the end — and there’s still room for more movement in the final rankings.
