DBU had another dominant week, keeping themselves at the top of the LSC standing and moving up to No. 7 in the NCAA DII national poll.

The real test came for the Patriots when they faced off against No. 24 UC Colorado Springs. In a 2-1 win, DBU proved they could hold their own against a nationally ranked team.

By the 86th minute, the score was tied as both teams pressed for the advantage.

Just as the Patriots found the back of the net within the first two minutes of the game, they found it again in the last one to secure their win. Anne Louthan, who previously played for UC Colorado Springs, scored the game-winning point.

Texas Woman’s and UT Tyler also have undefeated records at this point in the season, and claim No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Texas Woman’s has won every game by at least a four-point margin, their latest game against Oklahoma Baptist sat at 6-1.

Their first LSC game will be played at home against West Texas A&M.

UT Tyler begins their LSC play against UT Permian Basin. The real test will come for the team when they play their third LSC game against DBU.

Eastern New Mexico has yet to find their groove and are still looking for their first win. Last year the team went 3-13-1 overall. However, they start LSC play this year on their home turf which might help bring out the best in the team.
