So you're headed to the pool for yet another workout that includes, arguably the best cardio there is, swimming. Just a few blocks from the pool you check out what the workout of the day includes and you see "1 Mile Swim." Now the pool is neither a mile long, nor is it one-half of a mile long -- so you'll need some help. If this sounds like you... keep reading.

The pool is a traditional distance:

If the pool is 25 yards:

1650 yards/25 yards = 66 or 33 laps

If the pool is 25 meters:

1500 meters/25 meters = 60 lengths or 30 laps

If the pool is 50 meters:

1500 meters /50meters = 30 lengths or 15 laps

If you have no idea how long the pool is:

Give up, all hope is lost, and you'll never make it out alive. Kidding. Just estimate or ask someone around who might know the length of the pool.

The pool is a non-traditional distance:

If the pool is yards:

1650 / # of yards in one length = # of lengths in one mile

If the pool is meters:

1500 / # of meters in one length = # of lengths in one mile
