These are the unwritten laws of swimming, read, understand, and implement them as best as possible.

These are the rules of the pools. Please print them out, tape them to your ceiling, and recite them (at a minimum) five times daily. Not really, but they are important for a successful swim team atmosphere.

6.) No swimmer shall enter a lane when another available lane has far fewer occupants. 

  • ​The penalties for breaking this law could result in:
    • A bunch of swimmers on each other's feet
    • An angry teammate
    • Not enough space to hold onto the wall

7.) No swimmer shall borrow equipment from a teammate without first asking for permission. 

  • ​The penalties for breaking this law could result in:
    • Your equipment being borrowed without you first being asked
    • A teammate yelling at you
    • Your equipment "disappearing" for a couple of days

8.) Every swimmer must following breathing pattern rules when set by a member of the coaching staff.

  • ​The penalties for breaking this law could result in: 
    • ​Starting the set over 
    • ​An angry coach/coaching staff
    • ​Angry teammates
    • ​More strict creating patterns in future practices

9.) If you are caught pulling on the lane line, you must admit all wrong doings and cease from continuing these advantageous practices.

  • ​The penalties for breaking this law could result in: 
    • Starting the set over 
    • Being called a cheater
    • Times not counting
    • Accidentally pulling on the lane line at a meet

10.) When someone has a bad race, you do not tell them "awesome race" or " that was great," because clearly it was not either of the two.

    • Teammates worrying for your safety
    • Angry teammates
