David Marsh Off To UC San Diego, Talks Team Elite West

David Marsh To UC San Diego, Team Elite West

David Marsh has found success on every pool deck he has coached on. We could write an entire book on his resume and accomplishments in the sport, but for the sake of brevity and relevancy we will save the novel for another time.

For nearly ten years, Marsh has been the CEO & Director of Coaching at SwimMAC Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. Part of his duty included leading Team Elite -- a breeding ground of postgraduate professional swimmers. In 2016 alone, he guided Anthony Ervin, Ryan Lochte, Katie Meili, Kathleen Baker, Jimmy Feigen, and Camille Adams to spots on the U.S. Olympic Team.

However, the board at SwimMAC recently decided to move forward without Marsh as CEO -- leaving Marsh's future role with the club in limbo. Finally in May, Marsh and SwimMAC mutually agreed part ways -- begging the question from the swimming community: where will David Marsh land next?

Well, we finally have the answer to that question. Effective July 15, 2017 Marsh will be the Head Coach for the men's and women's swimming prorgam at UC San Diego.

In the interview above -- Marsh talks about the rationale behind the move, getting back into college coaching, and the status of Team Elite moving forward.
