2017 U.S. Nationals Will Be Held In A 4-Lane Pool

The 2017 U.S. National Swimming Championships will be held in a 4-Lane Pool? Wow, that almost seems too crazy to be true. Oh that's right it's not true. It's Fake News Friday.

You have to be kidding me. A national level competition being held in a 4 lane pool? With the amount of swimmers entered, this meet will likely run all night and day. Plus, it will produce some of the slowest times we've ever seen at a competition of this magnitude. *Disclaimer:*  Katie Ledecky will likely still break multiple World Records.

Question: Why would the times be slow though?
Answer: The pool is only 3 feet deep.

To our surprise a former swimmer tweeted about this EXACT SCENARIO on his account earlier today! Check it out…

PROS:
  • Head-To-Head-To-Head-To-Head Awesomeness
  • Less people to try to keep up with
  • Less names to remember
CONS:
  • Super wavy pool
  • Less people make finals
  • Taller swimmers might hit the bottom when attempting flip turns

This is pretty crazy and we want to hear your opinion on it, so...
