Michael Phelps On Potential Comeback: 'We'll See If I Get That Itch'
Michael Phelps is retired from the sport of swimming.

Or is he? Could we be witnessing another Brett Favre saga?

In a phone interview with the Associated Press on Tuesday, Phelps noted, "The true test will be, if I do end up going over to the worlds this summer, do I have that itch again?"

The 23-time Olympic gold medalist made his first comeback after heading to Barcelona, Spain, for the 2013 World Championships and watching Team USA's "slow" relay performances.

"I was just like: 'This is a joke. How can these guys be swimming this slow?'" Phelps recalled. "We'll see if I get that itch again."

So there you have it, folks. Phelps, who has repeatedly beat a dead horse by saying that he is finished competing and never coming back, is leaving the door open for another comeback. Well, open is a stretch. Let's say moderately cracked.

Then again, Phelps is living a pretty good life right now with his wife, Nicole Phelps, and son, Boomer Phelps.
