Big Ten Day Four Prelims: Hoosiers, Wolverines, Buckeyes. Who Will Win?

Day four prelims at the 2017 Men's Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships featured the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 butterfly. A tight race has formed between Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio State.

Today marks the final day of the men's Big Ten Championships, and a tight battle is ensuing in Columbus, Ohio, between Indiana, Ohio State, and Michigan for the title, while, in an equally close race, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Purdue are vying for fourth place.

200 BACKSTROKE

Indiana's Bob Glover took the top spot in this morning's prelim but is followed closely by Wisconsin's Brett Pinfold. Michigan placed three swimmers up in the A final and will look to capitalize on some serious points.

Wisconsin's Cannon Clifton took the top spot today in a new Badgers record of 42.00, but Shane Ryan and Blake Pieroni could very likely hit 41s as well tonight. Also keep an eye on the outside lanes for Paul Powers, the Big Ten champion in the 50. Indiana is looking to load up on some more points with three swimmers in the A final, two high up in the B final, and two in the C final. Minnesota could solidify fourth place with one in the A and two in the B.

Michigan and Minnesota both have three swimmers in the A final, but the real shocker is last night's Big Ten champ in the 100 breaststroke, Ian Finnertymissing the A final by .08.
