WATCH: Tom Shields Swims Fastest Flat Start 50 Butterfly in History

Tom Shields broke the American and US Open Rrecords in the 100 Yard Butterfly last night becoming the first person to break the 44 second barrier in the race. In addition to this swim, Shields swam the fastest flat start 50 butterfly ever during the final of the 50 freestyle at 20.10. This time beats the 20.4 by Joseph Schooling at the 50 of the 100 Fly at the NCAA Swimming Championships last year, as well as Jack Conger's 20.76 at the Eddie Reese Invite.
