Night Three Finals Recap: ISCA Elite Showcase Classic
Another fast night of swims from the ISCA Elite Showcase Classic in Clearwater, Florida. From a meet that has been highlighted by NAG records from standouts Zoe Skirboll and Josh Zuchowski, the third night of finals did not disappoint.

Eight, yes eight, individual records were broken during tonight’s action. Although we saw no NAG records on night 3, Josh Zuchowski and Zoe Skirboll continued their assault on individual titles and meet records. Zuchowski (Flood) took the 11&12 100 IM in a near NAG record of 53.95, just missing Michael Andrew’s 53.86 from 2012. Zuchowski also took home victories in the 100 backstroke with a 53.00, the 100 butterfly with a 54.11, and led-off a victorious Flood 200 Free Relay with a swift 23.23.

Zoe Skirboll (Racer X) also completed a difficult triple this evening with victories in the Girls 11&12 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 100 IM. She set records in both the IM and Freestyle, touching in 51.03 and 57.47, respectively. Her times were just off NAG records in both events.

In a meet full of fast sprinting, we should not overlook the up and coming talent of young American distance swimmers. On both the girls and boys side of the mile, records were broken. On the girls side 13 year old Anna Auld (ECAC) touched in a 16:46.33 to break the existing 13 year old record by over a second. On the boys side, Hayes Goetcheus (NCAP) broke the 14 year old boys mile record, posting a 15:51.85, over a half second under the existing record.

The final records broken for the day belonged to Abigail Kapeller (AQJT) in the Girls 13 year old 100 backstroke(55.19), Brett Feyerick (NCAP) in the boys 14 year olds 100 backstroke (50.39) and Leah Hayes (TWSC) in the girls 11 year old 200 yard breaststroke (2:22.83). Important to not that Hayes dipped under the existing 200 breaststroke record by nearly five seconds!
