At the end of the day, NC State leads the team race with 855.5 points and Louisville sits in second with 778.5 points. The meet's final day on Thursday will be filled with fast swimming galore, featuring the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and 400 freestyle relay.

On Wednesday night, in his final ACC Championship meet, he claimed victory in a time of 51.51. Peter Kropp, who broke the ACC record on Wednesday morning with a 51.46, finished second in 51.88. You can expect both of these guys to be faster in three weeks at the NCAA Championships. Louisville's Carlos Claverie rounded out the podium in third with a 52.05. Fiala noted in his post-race interview that the prelim is all about time and the final is all about getting your hand on the wall first. He did just that and picked up the night's second ACC title for the Hokies.

1.) Brandon Fiala (Virginia Tech): 51.51 (NCAA 'A')
2.) Peter Kropp (Duke): 51.88 (NCAA 'A')

Rounding out the podium in third was NC State's Coleman Stewart, another freshman, who touched in a time of 45.99. WOW. What a race... Grigory Tarasevich kicked it off by breaking his own ACC record in a time of 45.11. He took it out pretty sluggishly in a 22.22 at the 50 but then absolutely BLASTED home in a 22.89 to overtake Andreas Vazaios of NC State, who touched in 45.32. Vazaios' time would have finished second in the 100 back individual event. Up next was Carlos Claverie of Louisville and Derek Hren of NC State, who posted a 51.88 and 51.91, respectively. At the halfway mark, Louisville was 1:36.99 and NC State was 1:37.23, setting up a finish for the ages. They were almost identical on the fly leg as well, with Josh Quallen in 45.29 for the Cards and Justin Ress going 45.38 for the Wolfpack. In the end, it was senior versus senior to take the ACC title. Trevor Carroll of Louisville looked like he slipped a bit off the start but was still able to bring it home for Louisville in a new ACC record of 3:04.44 and the fourth-fastest time in the country this season. Soren Dahl, the 200 freestyle champion, did everything he could by splitting 41.95 but ran out of room. NC State grabbed silver in 3:04.56, the NCAA's sixth-fastest time this year. The scary thing about this relay for NC State is that it was missing a notable name: Ryan Held. Georgia Tech rounded out the podium in third with a 3:07.86.
