Battle Of The Horns: TCU & Texas Clash Friday In Fort Worth

The TCU Horned Frogs men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set to host the Texas Longhorns (No. 3 men/No. 2 women) in a clash of Big 12 foes on Friday, February 3, at 4 PM CST at the University Recreation Center in Fort Worth, TX. This meet will also serve as TCU's Senior Day, when head coach Richard Sybesma and the Horned Frogs will honor seven graduating seniors.

Here is a look at what to watch for during Friday's dual meet, which is streaming LIVE on FloSwimming.

TCU HORNED FROGS

Men's Team

The TCU men are lead by junior breaststroker Jakub Swierczynski and junior distance ace Connor Dobbs, who have both already picked up NCAA B cuts this season in their speciality events. Swierczynski has dropped a 55.14 in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Dobbs has put up a 15:29 in the 1,650 freestyle.

Women's Team

Look for seniors Ashley Dyke and Meagan Thompson to make in impact in the breaststroke/IM and mid-distance freestyle events, respectively. This will be the last time they get to race in their home pool so expect impassioned swims.

TEXAS LONGHORNS

Men's Team

As is stands today, the Texas men are the favorites to win the 2017 NCAA Championships for their third straight title. Led by Olympians Jack Conger, Townley Haas, Joseph Schooling, Clark Smith and fastest 200-yard breaststroker in history Will Licon, the Longhorns will look to fine-tune their races going into Big 12s and NCAAs.

Women's Team

Carol Capitani and the Longhorns ladies have turned some heads this season and put pressure on presumable NCAA favorites, the Stanford Cardinal. Led by superstar seniors Madisyn Cox and Tasija Karosas and sophomore Remedy Rule, the Texas women are likely going to swim some off events Friday in preparation for championship season.
